One of the last living heroes, Col. Bud Anderson, 99, has been honored with many awards. He is a triple ace who flew 116 missions in his P-51 Mustang Old Crow during World War II, and also flew in two other wars. This maquette depicts Bud in his WWII leather flying helmet and goggles with a parachute on his back.
This maquette was sculpted as a model for the life-size monument of Bud that is located at the Auburn California Municipal Airport.
