One of the last living heroes, Col. Bud Anderson, 95, has been honored with many awards. He is a triple ace who flew 116 missions in his P-51 Mustang “Old Crow” during World War II, and also flew in two other wars. This maquette depicts Bud in his WWII leather flying helmet and goggles with a parachute on his back.
A life-size monument of the colonel with his P-51 Mustang is located at the Auburn California Municipal Airport.
